EquityTrace Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how EquityTrace handles information when you use the EquityTrace mobile app.
Scope
This policy applies to EquityTrace mobile apps and related support communications. It does not apply to third-party websites or services linked from the app.
Information We Handle
EquityTrace does not require a visible account-creation flow. The app stores identifiers for recently viewed companies on your device so it can show Recent Searches. Search text is used to filter company lists and is not stored as search history by app code.
When an eligible user first adds a company to Watchlist, the app creates or reuses a Firebase anonymous user identifier. EquityTrace stores that identifier with the CIK identifiers of watched companies and server creation timestamps. The Watchlist record does not store company transaction history, payment-card information, or the user's name or email address.
Public Filing Data
The app displays company and ownership information from public U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filings. This public filing information concerns issuers and reporting persons and is not collected from you.
Service and Technical Data
The app uses Google Firebase Authentication, App Check, Cloud Firestore, Analytics, Crashlytics, and Google Play Billing as configured for the release build. These providers may process network and technical information, such as IP address, device or app information, anonymous user identifier, purchase state, crash diagnostics, and request logs, as needed to provide, secure, and diagnose their services.
How We Use Information
Information is used to provide company search, recent-company convenience features, owner-scoped Watchlists, public filing data, app reliability, security, troubleshooting, support, subscription entitlement verification, and app operations.
EquityTrace does not sell personal information or use personal information for targeted advertising.
Sharing
Anonymous identifiers, Watchlist records, purchase-verification state, diagnostics, and technical information may be processed by service providers that help operate the app, including Google Firebase and Google Play services. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate misuse, or complete a business transfer.
Storage, Retention, and Choices
Recent-company identifiers remain on your device until you clear Recent Searches or remove the app. Watchlist records remain associated with the Firebase anonymous identity until you remove individual companies or the records are otherwise deleted under EquityTrace's retention practices.
Anonymous identities and Watchlists may not be recoverable after app deletion, device replacement, credential loss, or moving to another device. Contact EquityTrace to request assistance with access or deletion; the ability to identify an anonymous record may be limited if the Firebase identity is unavailable.
Security
EquityTrace uses reasonable safeguards appropriate to the app, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure.
Children
EquityTrace is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information. Contact us to submit a request or ask a privacy question.
International Processing
Service providers may process information in the United States and other locations where they operate. Privacy protections may differ from those in your location.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app, its data practices, or applicable requirements change. The revised policy will show a new effective date.
