Primary Sources
EquityTrace summarizes public U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filings, including SEC EDGAR Form 4 ownership filings and ownership XML documents available through SEC Archives. Company ticker and CIK mapping may use public SEC company ticker resources.
Processing
Backend jobs download, parse, normalize, validate, and stage SEC-derived data before it is imported into app-serving Firebase collections. The mobile app reads app-serving data and does not crawl EDGAR, download SEC submissions, or parse ownership XML directly.
Coverage and Timing
Coverage, history windows, supported companies, and refresh timing may vary by app version, plan, data availability, and backend pipeline status. Data may be delayed, missing, amended, duplicated, malformed, or affected by issuer and reporting-person filing practices.
